Ancestry Visa, and break in continuous residence

Post by oops » Thu Feb 27, 2014 7:39 pm

I am planning on applying for ILR soon. I was outside of the UK for a 7 month period, but there is no stamp in my passport that shows when I left the UK, only one for when I re-entered. Is there any way they can discover the length of time that I was absent from the UK if there is no evidence in my passport?

Yes, the UKBA has record of all your departures and arrivals. It is best to be honest and to not fail to disclose information.

If you have exceptional circumstances and good and valid reasons for the long absence, you can provide evidence of this.
