Re: ILR (Spouse) - 5 year route question

Post by ajayinmelbourne » Sun Feb 21, 2021 4:16 pm

Hi , I am looking for the same answer as well. I have only 5 documents as joint correspondence

I have Internet bill, Water Bill, Council tax, Nursery invoices, Mortgage statements : Joint Correspondence.

How many more would I need to evidence as individual correspondence to applicant and sponsor?

Also, how far apart do these invoices need to be ? is it okay to have 2 invpices per year which are six months apart?

Thank you

Ajay

Thank you!

I am collating our proof of cohabitation since our last application (October 2018) and I have the below:

Joint correspondance:
5 x pieces from 3 x sources

Correspondance to applicant:
10 x pieces from 4 x sources

Correspondance to sponsor:
10 x pieces from 6 x sources

Should I submit the 5 joint pieces and then 1 x piece for each of us to make up 6? Or as I don't have 6 pieces of official correspondance to us both, I should just do 6 for applicant and 6 for sponsor?

I assume 'non official' correspondence doesn't count e.g. addressed envelopes from friends etc?

Thanks
Lois

Hi guys - me again!

Just filling out the SET (M) form and coming unstuck at the below question under the 'Finance' section.

Background: We are applying with my salary only (sponsor) and my base earnings exceed the requirement. I do sometimes have discretionary bonuses etc which are covered off in the employer letter (wording is: XX's job title is XX, earning a gross salary of £XX per annum. This salary has been earned continuously for X year and X months since her most recent wage increase in X 2019, with additional discretionary bonuses and commission included on certain months.).

Which box do I check for the below four under the question "What do they earn?" ?

The same amount continuously, above the financial requirement amount
The same amount continuously, below the financial requirement amount
Not the same amount continuously, above the financial requirement amount
Not the same amount continuously, below the financial requirement amount

I assume its A, as I earn the same amount continuously, however its sometimes more due to bonuses? But my base is consistent?

As always thank you for your help!

Also - I am hoping to submit this week.

The last payslip and bank statement that I have correlates to my last payday which was 28th January 2021. My Feb payslip is issued on the 28th and my bank is so annoying with my statements that I'd rather submit now prior to my feb pay and payslip, so I don't have to wait for the bank statement. Will this be fine for payslips to stop in Jan, if I apply now?

I hope you are filling the online form??

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -form-setm

4 years 11 months is fine. To be on the safe side book biometrics only when you complete full 5 years. These days biometrics appointments are running at a 28 day lag anyways.
Hey Cullinan - are you sure putting 4 years 11 months is fine, or would 5 years be better? I’m conscious the period he needs to have been here is 5 years so safer to say that, and then outline in my cover letter that it’s actually 4 years 11 months as I’m applying 28 days earlier

Thanks

You are overthinking. Ukvi do know the rules. 4 years 11 months is fine.

Thank you for all your help so far guys.

We are just uploading our evidence and stupidly don't have 6 letters addressed to us both. Will the below suffice?

Addressed to both:
March 2019 Electricity Bill
Sept 2019 Electricity Bill
January 2020 Bank Letter
January 2021 Council Letter

Addressed to applicant:
July 2019 NHS Letter
July 2020 Bank Statement

Addressed to partner:
November 2019 Water Bill
March 2020 TV License Statement

We are in a flat, so our address is Flat 2, 14 Example Road, however one of the pieces of correspondance is just addressed to 14 Example Road (not specifying flat) - hoping this will be okay?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi everyone,

Please could you let me know if I need to provide a cover letter with my SET (M) application? We are applying online obviously, and won't be attending in person. Biometrics are on Friday. I have a very basic cover letter but do we basically need to plead our case for ILR?! Or just state the documents included in a cover letter?

And if anyone has time please could you confirm that the above is all okay and covers off everything we need to submit? It covers everything on the document checklist but I get worried when I see other people including more documents.

Thanks so much

You don't need a cover letter.
