hello everyone,
I hope everyone is good. I have a question if someone can answer me pleaseeee

I submit my documents with VFS Islamabad on 17/12/2018 for EEA FAMILY PERMITS while submitting my documents the guy scanned my documents with digitalized scanner. the guy who scanned my documents returned my marriage certificate and my TB certificate plus my application form.

is it normal to return these documents ? I don't know if he put my documents in sequences , I am so worried.

please someone answer me I will be appreciated.
Yes. Quite normal. I had the same experience with the application for EEA FP made yesterday.
BTW i need to go on a holiday end of Jan and it looks like the timeline may be too tight. Anyone knows as to how to get the passport returned and how long it takes. Just in case.

You should get before end of Jan. Your passport. They are doing it fairly quick now the eea applications.

Location: VFS New Delhi, India

27 November - Biometrics
30 November - Received at UKVI
10 December - Decision Made and Visa Stamped
14 December - Received Passport with FP stamped.

7 working days counting 30/11/2018 and 10/12/2018. Happy Christmas all :)

Hello. mine was refused recently. What was your minor inconvenience?

Can anyone please tell me as I am struggling here and panicking.
Can I submit all documents ? As they go to Sheffield anyway. I am not sure if my wife needs to send docs there and me my part here. Or all the docs should be submitted by one person.
She has been advised to send all to me so I can submit.
Is it true?
I'm guessing she'd still have fill application
Book appointment and submit her passport somehow?

I am Polish living In UK
My wife is Chinese. Married In February2018

How to arrange all documents?
I have so far:
2-3 month bank statements (recent ones though with overdraft used to maximum 2,5k:( )
Half a year pay slips
Statement from employer(more than 5 years for same)
I can provide some cards she sent me with wishes
Photos from our travels together
I can provide a statement from my mum she has met and known my wife for 5 years
We can write our love stories of our relationship how it evolved
I could try to print some records from wechat (Chinese equivalent of messenger)

What else should I require to avoid infamous
Minor inadequacies?
Feel free to pm me
I can provide my mail or phone if that's allowed

We would plan to bring her to UK by our anniversary 24/02 Or definitely by the Brexit.
I'm planning to go to China to pick her and travel together
I'm in UK all the time by the way

I'd appreciate precise answer
If You can recommend any lawyer or agent in Edinburgh or Glasgow area I'd appreciate that too

Hey everyone!

I am going to be applying for the EEA Family Permit quite shortly and I want to make sure that I have everything. But here are a few questions that I have:

1. I have noticed that a lot of people have printed out THOUSANDS of pages of conversation between them and their partner. My husband and I undoubtedly message every day and thus I strongly believe it isn't necessary to show EVERYTHING. Has anyone used less?

2. Would it be okay to show proof of purchasing flight tickets in my bank statements rather than the actual plane tickets? I've been trying to search for the plane tickets in my emails and have had no luck.

My husband and I really want to get this right the first time and not have any problems. Any advice would help!

PS. I am American and my husband is a EU Citizen living in the UK.

Good afternoon,

My husband is Moroccan, I am Lithuanian national living in UK for the past 12 years. We've recently got married and are filling in the application online for the EEA Family Permit.

Just wanted to ask a few questions if I may please:
1) were you/your spouses submitting all the documents at the visa centers?
2) after submitting it at the visa center, were you required to send all the documents submitted with the application to Sheffield?
3) did you use solicitor or apply yourselves?
4) on the online application form, it asks for sponsor details - are we correct in understanding this would be me, his EEA national wife living in UK?
5) Section of 'EEA national' seems a little unclear, asking if one of us was married before.. which I was and got divorced. It then asks 'where did you live', 'when did you start living together' - do these questions relate to my previous marriage or something else?

Would be very grateful for all your help and guidance.

Many thanks,

Alina

1 If settled in UK, yes
2 Yes
3 Depends on different people but i found most solicitors to be useless
4 Yes
5 living together bit is for current relationship.

Hi,

This forum has been quite helpful, so i thought I'll share my experience.

2nd time applying. First time got rejected because we forgot to put the original marriage certificate, as we just put the translation. .... :D

I am Austrian, living in UK for the last 6 years, currently a full time Med student.
Wife is Afghan
Applied in New Delhi (both times)
Paid for the "keep your passport" service, as she couldnt stay in delhi alone and went back to afg.

2nd time:
Applied: 03/11/2018
Biometric: 06/11/2018
Received in Sheffield: 11/11/2018
Email from sheffield asking for her passport: 21/11/2018
Dropped her passport to VFS: 14/12/2018 (took us very long cuz she had to come from afg and i came during christmas holidays to stay with her)
Called the paid service on two different days asking for the visa status. both times it was still processing, but escalated the second time.
Email from VFS to collect passport: 08/01/2019
Stamped visa valid from: 07/01/2019

Two months wait because holidays like christmas and new year and because we took quite long handing in the passport.

Good luck everyone (so close to Brexit  )

1) Burden for rejection in marriage of convenience/relationship is high. Duration of relationship, legal status of relationship (married/not), ancillary circumstances (kids, living together) all play a role. Messaging printouts would be the last resort proof and shouldn't be needed
2) Plane tickets to come to UK or plane tickets to show being in touch with each other. For former the official guidance is not to book tickets until visa is provided. On the latter, plane tickets, visa stamps are all ok i guess.

hi everyone,
I have been following this thread for awhile now. I will be glad if someone can answer my question or tell me if they have had a similar situation. I live in the USA and we got the EEA FP approved once but it got expired. we applied for a renewal and this has taken forever. We applied Oct 27th, Biometric done Nov 2nd, UKVI receipt email / prepared for consideration email received on Nov/13/18. I have escalated my case like 5 times but all we get is an email asking us to be patient while our case is decided.
Has anyone had a similar situation or does any one have an advice on what to do next?
kind regards,
Belle

Hey guys,

Background: I'm American and had a tier 4 study visa. My husband is Italian and has lived in the UK for almost 5 years.

I was refused my permit last week. I received an email and attached was the refusal letter. REASON: Work contract wasn't enough to prove that he was still employed. So, I sent them a letter from his boss, wage slips, and also bank statements.

Now, I just received an email that says my decision has been made. No refusal letter. Any guesses? Is it likely that it's approved?

Thanks!!!

Hi Camaroust,

what was the reply you got. I pray it was good. I have the same situation. I got a refusal email this morning on the basis that i didn't prove my husband was an EU citizen. We intend to send all these proves but my question to you is...Did you do a new application when send the letter from your husbands boss? Or did you send it directly to the Sheffield office if so, What email address did you use.

Re: Sheffield Visa Section - EEA FAMILY PERMIT Certified/Uncertified Documents HELP PLEASE!!!

Post by nomignomeo » Tue Jan 15, 2019 3:16 am

I have a few questions regarding getting ready for submitting the documents for the EFP:

1. I've been reading a lot that certain documents need to be certified and which ones don't need to be. I know for sure that if one is not able to provide a passport to provide a certified copy of one but what about other documents? Which documents are highly recommended to be certified and which ones are merely okay to just be copies?

2. My husband just started working at a new company and I've noticed that some peoples' application was rejected for that reason. I've noticed that sometimes they want pay slips. Should I add in a section that he was recently hired or should his boss also write a letter stating where he's working?

I'm excited and yet really nervous, because people have said it's super easy and others who have submitted the exact same documents have been rejected. Really any advice, ESPECIALLY those from America would really help!

My timeline - EEA (FP). I had a 10 year business visa but chose to reapply for EEA (FP) as this was settlement route. Perhaps it wasn't needed but i did this anyway. Most lawyers were quite useless. Only guy who knew his stuff well was at "Relegal" (admins please allow in the interest of your forum members). Other refused to even confirm that they could answer my questions until i gave them money. 2 took money and spewed BS in consultations.

Hi Tonia23,

I think it's a bit early to contact them.
Maybe you can wait until Monday, 21 - 11days since email received from UKVI.
I know that some people in this forum sent email to UKVI after 15days to know what's happen and why it's so long.
