I am residing in UK on tier 1 migrant general and will be taking second extension in jan 2014. I have not taken life in UK test as yet with the understanding that it needs to be done before applying for indefinite. However i have been informed by someone in similar situation that the test will be changing and become more harder with england history etc included. I have been told to give life in UK test now in order to avoid taking the harder test later on.
I am not sure if the test validity will stay till i apply for indefinite. suggestions please.

The pass notification letter does not have an expiry date, your pass certificate is valid for life.
So if you take it now (and pass), you won't have to take it again.

so its advisable to give the test now rather than wait for the rules and test to change

related to above I have a query that me and my dependent have already taken life in UK test in March . now after reading new rules regarding eng lang requirements and also posts related to it here I understand that me and spouse have to submit our Pakistan degree to prove our English lang. however do I still need to do that if I have already passed IELTS for initial first HSMP application in 2008 Feb, later converted to tier 1(G).
please clarify as I am pretty confusd after reading the posts here

If you are on Tier 1 General that means you have already provided them the proof of you English language skills. In that case you just need Life in the UK test.

What is his qualification. If he has a degree which was taught in English then check in the PBS calculator whether the points are awarded on that degree or not.

I have already taken my life in UK test , my question is do I require to do any English language test or my maters degree certificate is enough to prove my knowledge of language...please help in understanding...

@Munazah
You don't need to take English language test. Your master's degree will suffice the English language requirement.
