Schengen visa Application Problem

Post by seekit » Fri Jul 20, 2012 3:43 pm

Hi, I went to one of the visa application centre to submit my documentation for schengen visa to swiss embassy. There were a couple of problems with my application so I thought I ask here if someone faced the similar problems and is there a workaround for me now?

First problem was with my employer letter not having a signature. I got Employer letter on letter headed paper but there were no signature. So the lady at visa application centre marked that comment in reviews that Employer letter has no signature. Will this be a problem to get visa? Will the embassy not call my employer to confirm if I work for them or will they just reject it as it doesn't have signature?

Second problem was with travel insurance. I got a letter from my bank saying that I am covered for upto 31 days travel to Europe. I am covered by Halifax as I've got their ultimate Reward account. She objected that the letter I got from Bank doesn't detail the policy and coverage. Although I asked the same from bank but they said they have got a template and they send that to all people requesting for that kind of insurance letter. So this was their standard letter.

Can anyone please let me know if this will cause my application to be rejected? I am a bit worried as I've already purchased plane/train tickets and I am travelling to more than one country and If I don't get my visa I'll loose alot of money.

I asked that lady that If needed I can post additional documents, but she said Embassy won't allow that.

Please help.
Thanks

Don't think the lack of a sig. would have a negative impact. The Swiss are meticulous to a fault (i'm married to one and know many!) and probably will check with your employer that you are on their pay roll and authorised to take leave.

Hard to say how they would judge the authenticity of your insurance; nothing a quick call to your bank won't solve. I also faced a similar dilemma when providing proof of travel insurance to the Germans as I, like you, have a policy with my bank who only provides a standard letter stating that I am covered for as long as my qualifying bank account is active. And I, like you, am still waiting for the outcome of my application.

I would say don't fret, because it won't help either way.
