Family Visa NHS Issue

Post by SpiderMonkey2012 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 11:14 pm

My mother in law will visit us shortly in the UK for a 2 month stay because my wife and I need help at the moment. She has gained a Family Visa which is great.

Unfortunately she has health issues which means she needs a simple blood test every 3 weeks. Nothing more. But I don't know where to start, does the NHS service offer a paid service for tourists? Do I need to arrange 'private'?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I can find anyone with the same question.

You will need to pay for NHS or arrange private and you will have to inform the service provider that it will be a paid service for the patient.

you can do it privately, as CR001 mentioned above that u have to inform surgery about registring her as private patient,
its arround £100 every time u hav to get blood test done, plus the fee to see a doctor is between £50 -£75 each time.
i ll suggest get health insurance, before she come in uk , it will work out cheaper ...
hope this will clear ur doubts
