Online Passport application before Ceremony

Post by geek1981 » Mon Jan 07, 2013 12:44 pm

Hi guys

I got approval letter for my BC but my ceremony is first week feb. I'm planning to do the online passport application now and give 2 weeks for IPS to send me the form by post. And then i will return it with supporting docs.

Anybody know if i can do the online application before my ceremony so i can send my completed application on the same day after my ceremony. Don't want to waste time further and don't want to do post office check & send, its just waste of money from my previous experience.

cheers.

It would be difficult to do this as you need to complete the form with your naturalisation certificate number and you will only receive this at your ceremony.

Why don't you complete a paper copy which you can pick up at the Post Office then you can still post it on the day?

You can't apply for a British passport until after the ceremony. Prior to that you aren't a British citizen and therefore won't qualify to be issued with a British passport.

Thanks. That makes sense. In think i will do that if they need certificate # when doing it online.
