Baby first passport

Im a British citizen married to a South African Women our baby was born in UK. Would like to get a passport for her do we still have to fill in any forms to register her as a British citizen or will they decide at passport office with relevent documents, Birth certificate etc?

baby is british from birth, you can apply for passport directly
