Does home office receive applications on Saturdays?

I got my ILR on 26th October /12 so I could apply for BC on 26th October 2013.

26th is Saturday and if I wait until Monday, then I will need to take an extra English test to satisfy the requirements.

Does the home office receive applications on Saturday's? I.e. If I sent my application on first class on Friday or NCS post my application on Friday, will they receive it on Saturday 26th or Monday 28th October?

I know case workers do some work on weekends but not sure if they also receive applications on that date.

The ukba generally accept the old form for 21 days after the new ones are released so you should be able to send it on the Monday. However, I don't know if this rules applies to naturalisation forms?

The date of application is the date of receipt by the UKBA. Their offices are generally closed on a Saturday so my guess would be that the receipt date would be the 28th.

If you apply through NCS or post it, I would make sure that your application is received by the UKBA on Friday, 25th October latest.

Satisfying English requirements is not a problem, I got 8.5/9 in IELTS. the issue is having to go thru the test again for being so unlucky that rules are to be changed the day I'm meant to apply.
