EEA/EU NATIONAL FOR BRITISH CITIZENSHIP

Post by segan007 » Sat Jun 08, 2013 12:55 pm

I am an EEA National from Germany .I moved and started working in the Uk since 2012 March with my wife and daughter all EEA Nationals. I know I have not lived long enough to apply for British citizenship but I like to plan ahead and get things in order before then.
My question is what are the requirements i need to have, when and how can I get a Permanent residence/British citizenship(waiting periods and requirement) .what are the things I need to have or do before I can apply in the future..Just want to get things right until then..
Your useful contribution will be appreciated.
please dont ignore my post drop a line will be cool

Many thanks

This link will explain the current requirements. As you still have a long way to go, best would be to check the website frequently in case there are any changes to the requirements.

If you exercise treaty rights for 5 years in the UK, you gain automatic PR or you can apply for confirmation of PR, but you need to hold PR for 12 months before applying for British Citizenship.

Many thanks for your reply...
Do I need to apply for certificate of residence using the EEA 1 Form? Before the 5 yrs PR application after living in Uk during the period?
That's another confusing thing for me..
