FLR(m) Visa Requirements URGENT HELP!!

Post by bronte_p » Thu Jun 13, 2013 5:01 pm

Hi there,

I am about to apply under the FLR(m) visa and will be going in to the Cardiff branch for the Premium same-day service in about 2 weeks.

However, with my passport due to expire on Oct 9th 2013, and limited time to renew, I fear that this may count against receiving the FLR(m) visa, even though I could essentially get it on the spot and then renew the passport in the next few months.

Then, are there issues with having 2 x passports upon interviewing for the visa?

Can anyone help me please? I'm running out of time and can't find anywhere the passport validity requirements?!?

Thanks in advance!

Your passport will be fine as the visa is not pasted into the passport and you will get a biometric residence permit so are free to renew your passport as and when you need to.

Thanks very much for your prompt response! That's a big phew(!) - can I please ask if you have any links or UKBA information to confirm this?

Have you been in a similar position? It makes sense to me since I will be at the appointment and my initial worry cam from sending it in and it expiring while waiting in the queue.

Thanks again!

I have not seen a link that states your passport has to be valid for the duration of the visa you are applying for within the UK. There have been many posts on the forum of people applying with passports that expire a few months after PEO appointments.

I recently applied for BC with my daughters passport expiring within 2 weeks of submitting application and there were no issues.

As the visa is now in a card format, you will be fine with your passport as long as it is still valid on the day of your appointment.
