FLR-M Help, please!

Post by HQuinn85 » Sun Jun 16, 2013 9:57 pm

I've searched back to see if any of the questions I have were answered elsewhere, but haven't seen anything. I really need help in filling out this form.

What I am stuck on is the financial requirements part...a huge headache.

1.) I have not worked in the UK during my stay here. I'm not allowed and I'd rather not break any rules while here. While filling this out do I add in what I made in the US and if so, do I convert it from US dollars to Pounds?

2.) My husband is currently working for an agency doing temp work at a bacon factory. Until recently the work hasn't been stable, but we've been surviving without governmental aid. The question of what his annual income before tax is hard for us to figure out. Do we just add up what he'd make in a year if it was stable work?

3.) My husband also has work history from 12 months prior to filling out the visa. Do we factor in this as well since he's only been with the agency since December (six months).

4.) The final question in the financial part is about the combined income. If we're not factoring in mine from the US, and we've got the annual income from both his former job and the agency work, are they both added up?

Also, has anyone actually been denied a visa for not meeting the financial "requirements"? In speaking to our friends and family here, no one in our area makes anywhere near that much before taxes and definitely not after. We've also got the backing of support from family (we're a young couple starting out).

There have been refusals for not meeting the new financial requirement and also please note that 3rd party financial support is no longer acceptable. Your husband will need to have substantial savings for at least 6 months if his income does not meet the requirement.

What is your current visa status in the UK??
