Marrying to Tier 1 visa Holder

Post by papu.sarkari » Thu Jun 27, 2013 12:05 pm

Hi,

I am currently on permanent residency or settlement route. I got my PR last December. I hope to apply for my British Citizenship this december/January.

In the meantime I would be marrying a Tier 1 visa holder some time next April.

Will she be able to apply to apply for PR after the marraige and then for BC ...as soon as she gets PR as she has been resident in this country for 3 and half years.

Or it is better to keep her on Tier 1 and then let it take its own route?

Thanks in advance.

No, because she is not your dependent. The quickest route for her to obtain ILR will be to remain on her Tier 1 visa, but once she has ILR, she will be able to apply immediately for BC as she is married to a BC and if she meets the standard requirements.
