Naturalisation validity

Post by Alle » Tue Jul 23, 2013 3:12 pm

Hi, Can someone please confirm if there is time period within which I must apply for a passport after recieving the naturalisation certificate?

While the application is in progress and after recieving the certificate can I continue to travel with my current passport?

As the process to get the naturalisation can take a considerable time and I may need to travel in that time period.

Thanks for your contributions

Alle

There is no time limit and also there is no requirement to ever apply for the passport, a lot of British born citizens don't have passport.

Obviously this depends on your nationality and whether you are allowed to hold dual citizenship as there might be rules in place on how long you are able to travel on your current passport after obtaining British Citizenship.
