pio card/birmingham

Could some one share or advice me about the pio card application in birmingham.

how long does it take for the process. it says 18 working days if submitted in person.i'm submitting in person.

i would like to collect the pio card when it is processed, how would i know if it has been processed.

lastly will all the original documents( like the british passport of my son) be returned to me on the day of the application.
