Tier 1 Dependent to ILR Query

Post by UKBALoveStory » Fri Sep 20, 2013 4:14 pm

Hi All,

Asking this question on behalf of my friend

Quick query (Summary):

Is it mandatory to apply for ILR before you can apply for BC?

Details:

- My Tier 1 (G) visa and my spouse current Tier 1 dependent visa is valid till Dec 2015. (Entry clearance for my spouse is granted in 2010 )

- I will be eligible for ILR in June 2014 as per current rules and for BC (if ILR granted) in June 2015.

Question is can I apply for BC in 2015 and my spouse can go from Tier 1 dependent to BC directly?

Thanks

ILR (or equivalent) is required for naturalisation.
