finishing course early before ILR

Hi GUYS,
please i need some help.I have just sent my ILR- application but prior to this my last tier 4 visa is due to end in August 2014,BUT finished early in April This year.I was just reading a blog that says one's college will write to the home office if one finishes course early and that home office will write to you to curtain the visa to 60 days.How do I know that my college has done this since am yet to receive any letter from home office curtaining the existing visa prior to my submission.
what should i do?should i inform my college or let "sleeping dog lie"?
