Living arrangements for Spouse Visa

Post by rwgs » Sun Nov 03, 2013 11:54 pm

My Canadian wife is applying to come to the UK. (We got married over the summer in Canada, and have never lived together (permanently), but met in the UK whilst she was here on a Tier 5 Visa, which recently expired.

At the moment, I am living at home as we are building a house here (which should be ready in the next 3 months). The application mentions that I need mortgage documents and deeds etc to prove I can provide a home for her.

If I don't have one yet, how does that work?, can I just say she will stay with me at my parents home until our new home is ready?

Thanks for any advice.

Yes. Or rather, your parents should say that. Provided the accommodation is adequate.

Thanks, do you know of a sample letter, or anything specific that needs to be in there for my parents to sign.

They'll need to provide all the evidence you do - e.g. land registry/mortgage etc.

And it's just a letter that says they know she's coming, welcome her, and outline the space in the house to say why it won't be overcrowded.
