Original documents: fiance visa UK

Post by CascadianPup06 » Thu Dec 05, 2013 4:00 pm

I'm working on a fiance visa from outside the UK. I will be sending MY original documents, passport, birth certificate etc, but I was wondering if the docs proving my fiances docs need to be original too? He travels for work and will not be able to relinquish his passport for the application. Will copies of HIS paperwork which I don't have access to originals, which is why I'm applying in the first place, be accepted?

A copy of his passport certified is enough and any stamps to reflect you spending time together. Everything else will need to be original.

What do you mean by "certified"? I might be able to get the copy notarised, though we were hoping to have him send me pdfs of his docs and have me print them here.

the copies need to be certified as a true copy of the originals, by a lawyer or notary for example
