Working Tax Credits for Spouse

Post by krazyasif786 » Sun Feb 09, 2014 11:10 am

Hi

I've recently applied for my spouse for remain to stay in the Uk. She has a 30 month visa extension and is required to have 120month in the uk consequatively before applying for permanent residency.

In the papers from the home office it says she in not able to have access to public funds.

I rang the tax office and wanted to apply for working tax credits. They say as I have a wife I need to do a joint application.

If I do a joint application will my mrs be in breach of immigration rules? I spoke to my solicitor who did my application and he says not to worry. I just wanted to know your expert advice.

Tax credits needs to be a joint claim and it won't have an effect on your spouse's future applications.
