ILR for child born in UK

Post by ashish24 » Sat May 24, 2014 9:47 pm

Hi,
I have my ILR due in Dec 2014. I have a 4 years old daughter born in UK. And, also a newly born baby boy last week only (in UK).
I have heard like I shouldn't apply for their ILR, neither my daughter or my son. As soon as I get ILR in Dec I can apply directly for both of them UK citizenship. Is that correct?

If I go not to apply for newly born baby ILR so I don't need to apply for his Indian passport as well because I don't have any plan to travel abroad in next six months.

Please suggest.

Regards,
Ash

Yes, you can register both children on separate forms - MN1 - under section 1(3) of the BNA, which is an entitlement to register as a British citizen. Once you receive their certificates, you can apply for their British passports.

Neither child will need to have ILR for a section 1(3) entitlement registration.
