Not valid Esol B1 exams still offered to students, why?

Hi,
I've just started my way to become British citizen, passed my LITUK today and was offered to sit the Esol B1 tomorrow morning for £135. I thought it was a good idea and paid my deposit, but it seems this company is not one of the two allowed to provide tests for naturalization. Are they going to put the back date on the certificate or is it just complete scam? I've noticed there are many companies online offering B1 tests and claiming they are still valid. Am I wrong? Is it still ok?

You should only be doing tests from the approved test provider list that came into effect on 6th April 2015, see the list Here (Click)

If the place you have booked with is not on the list, it won't be valid or accepted.

I've found this: http://qualifications.pearson.com/conte ... tement.pdf which is eveen more misleading considering the 6th of April as the final date the old testing centres should be providing valid exams. The receptionist claimed the same thing, that they contacted HO and HO confirmed they will be accepting their tests until November. I am still confused.

mine is also a PearsonEdexcel Certificate which is on the transitional list and as of November it can't be used. mind you my b1 was done in Feb 2014.

To my understanding, tests done AFTER6th April 2015 ,certificates issued by Trinity/ IELTS are the only ones accepted.

I wouldn't bother if I was you. at least if u get one done by trinity college the certificate will last a long time!

I wouldn't bother if I was you. you would've wasting money on a certificate and even more on a failed BC application!

There is a Pearson on the 'transitional' list but it must have been taken before 6 April 2015 for it to be accepted up until 5 November 2015:

Anyone who has taken a previously approved test on or before 5 April 2015 may still use it in a UK immigration application until 5 November 2015 providing the test is one of those detailed in the transitional approved tests list.

It's very clear from Gov UK website, after 6 April the new 'tests & providers' list must be used:

Thank you everyone. This all means that many companies are misleading people to take exams which will not be accepted. Big big fraud. If you google Esol B1 for citizenship, at least 20 results from around Uk will show up, all claiming they are still accredited by HO.

Yes, only if they could go to government's own website and look for page. No excuses for being lazy.
