Legacy Case

Post by MALIKG » Sat Sep 15, 2007 10:48 pm

Dear Friend:

jus need to ask one quick question regarding New Legacy Case policy, i been here in uk since 98 on asylum and in april 2003 and my solicitor applied on the basis on human protection, i have got a letter from home office that my application has been accepted as valid and i am allowed to work and stay here until my case is under consideratin and in letter they said that these kind of cases usually take up to an year to decide, but still now i have not heard any thing from home office since then ,

so all together i m here since december 98, so according to home office new law AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY UNDER LEGASE CASE POLICY,

bit curious wot to do? any one can help me out, and one more thing that i doing preparation for LIFE IN THE UK TEST, will it make any difference?

waiting for your kind advise:

Take care:

According to the BIA http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/applyi ... gammefaqs/
you cannot apply for consideration unless there are "truly exceptional or compassionate circumstances". Moreover, it is by no means guaranteed that legacy cases will be granted leave to remain. Your best option may be to just carry on waiting and getting on with your life. The longer you are here, the better your chances of eventually being allowed to remain. Keep yourself gainfully employed, keep your payslips, and keep out of trouble with the law. I think that the Life in the UK test would be of no relevance: you are not in a position to get ILR at the moment, and I think the test result is only valid for a few months.
The Refused are coming day-by-day nearer to freedom.
