In-country (PBS Dependent-Partner Visa) - Extension Delay

Post by jack_daniel » Fri Oct 16, 2015 2:56 pm

Hi All,

I made an Online application for my spouse in the PBS Dependent - Partner Category on 11th Sept 2015.
The Supporting documents were submitted on 12th Sept 2015 and the biometrics was done 3 weeks ago.
And I'm still waiting for the BRP to arrive.
I'm aware that in the Standard category it could take upto 8 weeks for the Visa to come, but she has plans to travel outside the UK, in 3 weeks time.
Also her visa expires by then, and has already been asked by her employer to provide the extended visa at the workplace.
failing which she could be terminated.

I have ILR now but had done my PBS Visa Extensions 2 times before in the UK for myself which hasn't taken more than 10-12 days after the biometrics.

Q.Does anyone have any idea how long it takes the visa to arrive after the biometrics are done?
Q.Does HomeOffice proof read and checks the Visa Application before sending the biometrics letter
OR they send biometrics letter to everyone who has applied and only look at the application once they receive the biometric info.

Hi Moderators , Members
Please can you advice what should be done in such case.
Is there any helpline for the Home Office where we can speak about the delay.
I've tried many numbers but all of them ask you to visit the website.
I have already sent them an e-mail which i haven't had any reply.
3.5 weeks after the biometrics were done.
Do you think if there were any problems , they would've told us by now.

You should have applied in person for a same day appointment if there was a slight urgency. You will need to wait, HO will deal with the application and there isn't much you can do to speed it up.
