Tier2G Visa, changing Employer, does my wife need visa again

Post by andrecp » Sat Nov 28, 2015 5:17 pm

Hello, if I change Employer under the Tier 2 General VISA, does my wife need visa sponsorship again as well?

She is at the moment in a tier 2 dependent visa of me.

Thanks

Also I don't understand the cooling off period, http://www.immigrationboards.com/uk-tie ... 93951.html, does that apply to me or me wife when I switch jobs??

If you switch employers WITHIN the UK and change your visa WITHIN the UK, there is no cooling off period provided you are changing Tier 2 G to Tier 2 G.

Dependents ARE NOT subject to cooling off period unless in certain circumstances which are not relevant to the very brief circumstances you have posted.

Thank you so much. On my last question, when I apply for a new VISA for the new Job, will my sponsor need to sponsor my wife again?

I had read somewhere that there's no need since she's linked to me and I will have a new job.

There isn't a need, but there have been many posts recently of dependents leave being curtailed due to not applying at same time or shortly after main applicants switches employers.

Read the full thread in the link below and the links that other moderators have posted to get a better understanding.

Thanks so much! Very helpful.
Last one if you can:
Does my new employer have to pay the NHS surcharge again? Because my previous one already did for the next 3 years

thanks

It needs to be paid for each application. There is uncertainty whether a refund for previous applications are done. There are a few threads on this issue as well but will have to dig them out.
