British Protected Person

Post by 2011senator01 » Sun Jan 03, 2016 3:37 am

Dear All,
Please advice my friend on this matter, her parent (FATHER) was a British Protected Person (around 1945) before Nigeria got her independent in 1st Oct, 1960 and she's now an adult, what can she do to move to UK or any chance to apply for as SON/DAUGHTER of a British, they can still find their father passport, although they showed me the true copy the fathers passport.

1. What can she apply for?
2. Is there any chance be granted to move to UK?

Please she need your candid advice.

Thanks
2011Senator01.

Nope, doesn't look that will be a route for your 'friend'. A British protected person does not or never did have the automatic right to reside in the UK, it is not British Citizenship.

She will have to find a visa route she qualifies for if she wishes to move to the UK.
