Sponsoring Visitor Visa - Affect on Future Applications

Hi,

I am going to sponsor my parents' visit in a couple of months time. A situation has raised where a friend of mine is asking for sponsorship letter too. My questions are;

1. Does sponsoring my friend now is going to affect my parents' application if for some reason things go south in relation to my friend?

2. Do Home Office keep a record of all Sponsors and use them for future applications?

I will appreciate if anyone could respond to either of the queries above.
