My husband has been in the country since September 2005 under student and Tier 2 work visas. In April 2016, he is planning to apply for ILR through the legal 10 years of residence, using the premium service.
I, on the other hand, the wife, is currently holding a Tier 2 (spouse) visa which is due to expire in August 2016. We have been married since December 2013 and I have been living in the UK under the tier 2 spouse visa since September 2014. Previously, I was holding student visas for 6 years (did my A level, UG and Master's degree here) before returning to my home country in Indonesia in 2012. I lived in Indonesia from January 2012-September 2013 (and visited England under visitor visa before and after our marriage). I am now also doing a Phd in a UK University.
My question is, if my husband is applying for ILR and I am certainly not qualified to apply for one and apply together with him under the same application (based on the information I have found in the Home office website), which type of visa do I then need to apply to extend my stay in the UK? Do I apply together with him or after he has got the ILR results?
I would really appreciate if anyone could help. Thank you in advance!
