Citizenship application processing times

Post by donblount » Sat May 07, 2016 1:19 pm

Apologies for repeating the question. I have gone through number of the timeline threads on this website and it looks like the average processing time for somebody applying with Tier1 + ILR is around 2 - 3 months. I was lead to believe that the processing time was closer to 8 -9 months ( mainly by friends and colleagues). Am I reading the timelines correctly, is 2 - 3 months the norm?

Of course I understand that each application is different and timelines cant be guaranteed.

The Home Office target is 6 months although most applications we've seen on here recently are being approved in half that. Quite a few MARCH 2016 applications have already received approvals. One member who applied in February 2014 has only just got a decision.

So, there are no guarantees when it comes to processing time. One member here got an approval in just 7 days. I have a very straightforward case and I've been waiting 45 days so far.

Locking this thread as we don't need another long running topic about timelines.

It varies, members should exercise patience and just wait for the process to run its course. There is no 'average'. Each application, regardless of Tier 1 / spouse visa / Tier 2 / Ancestry / UKM / UKF etc, is judged and decided on its own merits.
