Tier 2 General extension dependant apply later on

My visa extension is due next month, is it possible for me to apply now (same day or by post) myself and if I get my visa then I apply for my wife and son's visa ?

My salary is 34,500 (40 hours per week) for software developer code 2136. My calculations suggest it's above 31,100 from register of home office. Mine seem to be 33,400 based on 39 hours, could someone confirm please ?

Your dependents can apply after you or once your extension is granted, provided they apply before their current visas expire. Postal applications can take a few months, so you will need to weigh up the risk.
