Hi CR001CR001 wrote:Where was your son born and where is your son now?
My wife will be applying for he ILR next year. So, once she gets the ILR, can i register my son as a british citizen or Do i have to apply an ILR for my son as well along with my wife's application ?secret.simon wrote:Non-British citizen children born abroad get the visa status of the less-privileged parent.
So, in your case, the child's status will follow that of the mother (less-privileged parent) through till ILR. The child can be registered as a British citizen when the mother applies to get naturalised.
IHS and other fees/charges will payable for both mother and child throughout their common immigration journey.
Correct. But the government has got authorisation for new charges in the recent Immigration Act 2016 and they may be applicable to your wife and child.thedazzzzler wrote: I think we don't have to pay IHS for ILR ?

As CR001 has advised, the child needs ILR too.secret.simon wrote:The child can be registered as a British citizen when the mother applies to get naturalised.
