Tier 2 Switching sponsorship question - help!

Post by malikdattapulkit » Sun May 15, 2016 3:10 pm

hi
I wanted a brief on the steps I should follow for my tier2 sponsor switch:

My current Tier 2 General Visa is valid for 2 more years. But I want to switch my sponsor.

I am aware that once I get the 2nd sponsor offer letter , they would apply for a COS.1) Do I resign at this moment and get my visa / leave to remain with new sponsor in the notice period ?

Also , my old job requires me to travel outside UK and may continue in the notice period also. How do I get my leave extended as I would be travelling with my passport outside UK?

Can I apply for the new Visa in my home country and then resign to avoid any cooling off or issues with the passport/travel ?

Tier 2 General Sponsor Change

Post by malikdattapulkit » Sun May 15, 2016 3:53 pm

Hi Gurus

Once new job offer and COS is obtained. Can a new Tier 2 visa / leave to remain with the new employer be applied from Home Country ?

I have a job which requires me to travel outside UK and may be the same even in notice period. How do I go about switching my visa and obtaining new BRP in my scenario as I would be travelling outside UK with my passport?

If only In country is possible , Can I apply for new BRP and leave UK for my work ? Do PWC require the passport for processing new BRP Application ?

You should apply for your new visa within the UK once a CoS is issued and then resign (assuming your notice period is not very long). Resigning before you have a new visa is risky, there is no guarantee you will get the new visa. You will be permitted to carry on working your notice with your new visa and should not have an issue with traveling.

You should not apply for a new Tier 2 G with a new sponsor from aboard.

Has your new sponsor conducted the full and proper RLMT process?

No RLMT has not been done yet.

Can I apply for new visa from India ?
