Dear Moderators and Members,
Couple of questions please
1) What is the current time line for MN1 applications. My daughter's bio metrics were done on 22nd April
2) While her MN1 application is under process , can we also apply for her passport? I have seen some post that some members have done like this. Please advice

1. It can take anywhere from a couple of months to many months. You will need to be patient.
2. No you can't. Those that have applied for passports have applied using the JCAP (joint citizenship and passport application) scheme offered by NCS.

Dear Moderators and Members,
We applied for our child MN1 on 30th March and bio metrics were done on 25th April. Since then we have not heard any thing.
Is it not delayed as i have seen the time line and people are getting certificate within 7 weeks?
Secondly do you think they may ask for additional information?
Thirdly is there a contact number or email to get an update of the status of the application?
My child has other passport with us , can she travel on that ? When passport arrives i can take that with me and then she can come back to UK using that passport. is this possible? Since she only needs British passport to re-enter in UK
Cheers

Haqhash,
We are in a similar position. We had applied for Joint Naturalisation (under MN1) and passport via Maidenhead Council.
Payment for Naturalisation was taken on 9th April, Biometrics provided on 18 April. Payment for Passport debited on 18 April 2016.
After that I haven't heard anything. I don't think there is any way we can contact UKVI or HMPO.
Please let me know if you get any information.
Thanks

Haqhash,
No response yet ...... just waiting.
TalkHome,
I am sorry for a late response, somehow missed notification of your comment.
Yes there is a service available with different county councils. I applied via Maidenhead Council. The service is called 'Joint Nationality Checking and Passport Service'
Yes you fill MN1 and Passport form at the same time. You will have to book an appointment with the Council where a dedicated person will check all the documents and send the application to UKVI.
Hope this helps and sorry again for a late response.
Thanks

Have you looked at the form available from the Post Office, it contains the guidance booklet and on page 12/13 you will find the table of what needs to be submitted.
Assuming your child was born after you got ILR or British Citizenship or has been registered as British.
You can apply using the 1 week fast track service for a child passport.

Dear CR001 ,
Many thanks for your reply. I have seen the guideline but still not sure about the documents
I have called the Fast Track service and they have told i need to send the registration certificate as well
But as i understood from the guideline , they will need Birth certificate and current passport of child as well
Any thoughts please

It
looks like child's birth certificate is not required if child produces registration certificate?

Dear Team,
We are just filling passport application form for our child's first British passport. As both Father and mother were born aborad , it appears that we will have to provide grand parents details in section 8 as well. Is this correct?
Secondly we may not have all the exact dates , so what will happen in that case?
Please guide

Haqhash,
Did you got the Naturalisation certificate of your child?
Yes, you will have to complete the Grand parents details.
If your parents (Child's grand parents) have a passport, use the details from there. If you don't have exact dates, you may use estimated dates.
Thanks

No, as your child will be British through registration and not descent. You do not need to complete grandparents details. Have you read the guidance?
