where do i submit my paperwork for wife spouse visa?

Post by darthraki » Mon May 16, 2016 10:30 pm

Hi all,

time is nearing to do my wifes settlement spouse visa so she can join me in the uk after our religious marriage in november in india.

My question is

I will be applying for the visa in the next 2 weeks.

I have got all my documents ready following a lot from this forum and ukvi documents.

I will be applying for the visa on her behalf from here on the website.

How wil the process work...

She will obviously have to make payment and go to the centre to submit documents but i'm confused to what documents she will submit?

I'm guessing;

she will submit all her documents regarding her ID, TB results, IELTS results.

Would i need to send all my documentation to her or do i submit them to an address in the UK?

Would be great help if someone would enlighten me.

Thanks

It is too early to apply now for entry to the UK in November. You can only ask for a visa to be postdated by up to 3 months. She will only be issued with a 30 day vignette in her passport and has to travel within the 30 days and then collect her BRP card within 10 days of arriving.

Are you aware that you can only ask for a visa to be deferred for up to 3 months? Once the visa is issued your wife will have to enter the UK within 30 days and collect her BRP from a designated Post Office within 10 days.
I'll leave others to advise on the submission of documents.

Hi,

when going on to the visa4uk website, it allows you to apply for 6 months in advance.
the current date showing is november 12...my uk return date would be november 18th so i'll have to wait a few days.

i've attached a screenshot... please correct me if i am wrong?

She won't be issued a visa within 6 days if that is what you are expecting. HO will only post date a visa by 3 months as far as I am aware. Many people have requested dates in the future to travel and UKVI have issued visas ignoring or overlooking this.

Why the rush to do it now? Are you already married at present?

You can't apply on her behalf, she has to complete and sign the forms, she is the applicant. You cannot be her 'representative'.

Hi,

I never said it would be issued in 6 days but I am just going according to the visa4uk website

it asks for date of intended travel and it goes as far as november 12th 2016.

So you are saying that even if i submit a visa app now that they will ignore this date and just issue a date 3 months from now if accepted?

also yes currently married - court registered in feb. religious wedding in november.

Yes, there have been many members posting that their 'intended date of travel' has been ignored and they have had to go through the stressful situation of trying to get the visa corrected as it was issued from date of decision.

Any reason why your spouse can't apply now and come to the UK and then you both return for the religious ceremony and celebrations?

ah thank you for that info.

ummm nah there isn't any reason at all...never thought of it like that really.... we are married and i can apply now...nothing changes in 3 months time...will have to think about it....

UPDATE: oh i know why...because you are only allowed to go back for a certain period of time within the 33 months....i was told by ukvi over the phone when i rang up...
plus she has to do all shopping/prep etc.

but on the question...would i submit my papers here or would i send them to india?

Absolute nonsense. There is no restriction on traveling out of the UK at any time. HO is well known for providing very incorrect information and take no responsibility for it.

Lol, they said that you can leave the UK on the visa for no more than 6 weeks because there may be issues when applying to renew the visa after the 33 months is up.

very confusing.

I do appreciate your responses, thank you very much.

But do you have any news regarding the paperwork submission? Can I submit mine within the UK and the mrs submit her's in India?

Please follow the process online that will give you instructions. I am not from India so have no idea really where/how to submit documents.
