Tier 2 Dependant Visa - Name Change

Hi All,

I am new to this board and has been following it for a long time and has been very helpful in all my visa applications.

Coming to the question I want to ask:

I am getting married in a couple of weeks in India. We are going to apply for her Tier 2 dependant visa right after marriage.

My future wife has had her name changed after school but before university by deed poll or gazzette.

When she applied for her passport she provided proof of this. (Her passport is in new name).

When applying for her dependant visa, if the application form asks for this, should we mention that she was known by a different name?

Should we provide any proof for the name change or would it be accepted that the proof was provided during application for the passport?

Any help in this matter would be much appreciated.

Yes, if the form asks for 'previous names you have been known by' then it needs to be provided and the deed poll submitted.

Sorry guys. Got another question.

In the family details section of the tier 2 pbs dependant application, the form asks for details for father and mother, especially date of birth.

My fiance's dad passed away when she was very little and her mother is not in a right state of mind to remember the her father's date of birth. Also the family is estranged from the rest and there is no one that we could trace and get that details. I could not find any birth certificate for her late dad online as they are not digitised yet. However we found her dad's death certificate if it would be of any help.

Do any seniors have any insights into how we can proceed?

Hi All,

I am under shortage occupation list as of my last application - SOC 2126 (product design engineer : currently still in shortage occupation)

I am gonna apply for my would be wife's dependant visa from outside UK.. Should i apply using Tier 2 general partner shortage occupation or use tier 2 general partner
