Hi All,
My wife is currently in the UK on a Tier 2 General Visa and I'm here on a Tier 2 ICT Short term visa. I would appreciate it if someone could validate my understanding of the current immigration rules, which are -
I can,
1. Shift from the Tier 2 ICT to the Tier 2 general dependent without having to serve the 12 month cooling period, but the application will have to be made overseas.
2. After transfer from the Tier 2 ICT to the Tier 2 General Dependent on say date DD/MM/YYYY, I will have to wait a further 12 months from that date to be able to transfer to the Tier 2 General (provided I get a T2G COS). I can be employed in the UK for these 12 months.
Alternatively, I can
1. Shift from the Tier 2 ICT Short term to the Tier 2 ICT Long term (provided I meet the pay scale) without having to serve the cooling period via an application made outside the UK.
Also, from reading various forums, I see that employers do not prefer candidates on a Tier 2 General dependent. Can someone in IT confirm if this is true.
Many Thanks for your replies
