Urgent Please help me from fraudster

Post by roshan_dhl » Fri May 27, 2016 10:51 am

Hi All gurus and experts please help me

I am in Tier 2G curtailment period, which is ending in 11 June.
On process to find another option, I came across a consultancy, who claims to have a good relation with seed funding company who can fund my business plan and get T1 entrepreneur and do business after the visa.
I am so convinced that my business idea is really good as I am in web development field and my business plan will easily get funding from seed funding company also made me believe that VC firm's reputation is very bad in market so better UKTI endorsed seed funding competition.

I did research about T1 entrepreneur & seed funding competition but found very little or no information about UKTI endorsed competition.

They told me that there are lots of process involves to get funding guaranteed paper like making business plan, accountant fee, solicitor fee etc. which costs around 6 grand.

They made me believe they are professional people truly in business so I paid some amount in advance.
But now one of my friend told me many these types of consultancy are in fraud business, making fake paper.

I am in so tense now not sure what to do
My questions are
- How to know whether or not the UKTI seed funding company is genuine
- What is UKTI endorsed seed funding competition? Is that so easy to get funding in IT Field with good business plan?
- What shall I do next to find they doing genuine business?

Thank you in advance

Web development companies are ten a penny. So ask yourself why anyone would be so keen to get you funding.
You don't need to pay anyone 6-grand or more to sort you out.

There is no guarantee in terms of procuring a visa. Anyone offering a so-called 'guarantee' is misleading you.
(And fyi, even holding a valid visa does not necessarily guarantee entry into the country).

Suggest stop right there.
Cancel the cheques and any pending credit payments.
Rip up any 'contract'.

Contact UKTI via here:
https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... r-services

Take a breath, think for a moment and be realistic here, how could anything be sorted out by June 11?!

You are about to start a business. You will get many offers for services and products and you need to be able to weed out the good from the crap. It is a necessary skill.

If you want the forum to help you suggest you share more details on the funds you are considering and the consultants. You say they are guaranteeing something (the funding? the whole visa?)

What is your timing do you have to submit by june 11th or 28 days after that? because whatever competion you have to first win it and I am sure even after that there is some paperwork to get through before they commit to legally funding you.

Can you name the consultancy, Seeding fund and the Agents you met. As someone if dealt with them in past might answer you. Even I came across many such rackets / bogus VC firms.
So verily, with every difficulty, there is relief.

:!: No names here - thanks.

OP simply needs to contact UKTI on previous link above (or google it). Simple as that.

Why insist on convincing yourself this arrangement is above board?
Best case is you've found yourself an expensive unqualified lawyer or some sort of management consultant.

If you really need such support get yourself a legitimate, experienced and accredited lawyer via Law Society/SRA or an OISC immigration advisor.

Contain UKTI to check people's credentials if they claim to be accredited by UKTI in some way.

You have no need to do anything else via other channels.

Hi noajthan
I didn't know these things happens form these type consultancy and also my little knowledge about Tier 1 entrepreneur process guideline.
They still haven't given the Funding paper yet and I don't know the funding company yet as the process just started few days ago, once I got the paper I will go to Accredited lawyer but I am not sure where to find the right one.
Thank you for suggestions

Noone can guarantee you anything at this stage. Certainly not by June 11.
Suggest you drop your current engagement with those current 'advisors'; just write it off to experience.

For professional advice...

You would have probably done better using your energy to find another Tier 2 General sponsor (in my opinion). 11th June is 2 weeks away, any 'rush' job of Tier 1 Ent papers (if this is genuine), will be scrutinised.

Tier 1 Ent is not the easiest visa to get and requires a lot of proper planning and preparation etc.
