Spouse & kid - allowable abscence in UK

Hi,
I am working in UK under Tier 2 since May 2014. Spouse and kid (01) got dependant visa at the same time.

They came in UK Januarry 2015. As she is working in Bangladesh went back there in March 2016 again along with my kid who is just 7 yrs old now.

How long they can be out of UK before ILR.
1. Maximum total period
2. maximum duration of any single stay.

Absence should be limited and for good reason.

To obtain ILR, they require 5 years residence NOT just holding a visa for 5 years but living and working in another country.
