Tax not paid by Employer ( Tier 2 General Visa)

Post by csgorle » Wed Jun 01, 2016 5:44 pm

Hi, I am on Tier 2 General Visa from Dec 2011 to till date and planning to apply for ILR in Dec 2016. I don't have pay slips or p60 for first 2and half year from my first employer. I called HMRC to get them. HMRC said my NI number is only registered from 2014 for work and they don't have previous year tax information on there system.

Could you suggest me how I should proceed to apply for ILR in Dec 2016.

Regards,
C

Did you work for a proper employer or was it an umbrella company or an agent?

Why don't you have payslips/P60s? Did you not get any or did you lose them maybe?

It is a kind of umbrella company who get people from INDIA.
They got me here on permanent payroll.
After landing in UK I came to know we have to search contract job and they will bill for us.

I suppose this 'employer' charged you a 'commission' or % of your 'salary? Did they charge you a for your CoS or a visa facilitation fee?

Working for an umbrella company or agent is illegal and not permitted on a Tier 2 General visa. Contracting is illegal and not permitted on a Tier 2 General visa.

You will likely have a problem now.
