Applying by post - Employer need confirmation from HMRC

Post by ravi1234567 » Fri Jun 10, 2016 9:23 pm

Hi my visa expires on 17th June. Applying for ILR on 14th June. My employer asks for valid visa or a confirmation from Home Office stating my application is in progress. I said I can give postal receipt as proof but they wont accept it. How can I get proof or a reference number from HMRC before 17 June. Plz advice

I am sure you mean confirmation from HO and not HMRC!!

There is no way you can get confirmation or a reference number within the 3 days. Your existing visa conditions continue under section 3C if you submit an application to HO before your current visa expires.

You should have applied in person if you knew this would be an issue.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
