Citizenship certificate error correction and passport impact

Post by Liapetr » Mon Jun 13, 2016 3:46 pm

Hi All,

I just received the Home office approval letter for my citizenship application and invitation to the ceremony. My place of birth is incorrect on the invitation letter, which means that it will be incorrect on the citizenship certificate as well. The letter says that I still need to attend the ceremony and then send the certificate for correction.

The issue is that I've applied for the passport the same time as for citizenship using the NCS, which means that I should automatically receive the passport within 3 weeks of the ceremony. The place of birth goes to passport as well. Does it mean that I will need to reapply for passport as well?
Is there anybody who was in the same situation?
We plan a holiday in September and with all this it seems that I might not have the passport by then, so would appreciate any comments.
Thank you.

What exactly is the error in the place of birth?
