Child benefit - ICT tier 2 dependent

Post by chetancmc » Wed Jun 15, 2016 12:48 pm

Hi,

I am working in the UK on ICT tier 2 visa and my wife (on PBS dependent visa) has delivered a baby in the UK, she is not working (never worked in the UK) so can she apply for a child benefit ? My visa is till Jan 2017 and probably will get extended, my wife and baby has no plans to go back to India till then. few of my friends suggested my wife to apply the child benefit but I am not sure.

kindly advise.

THanks,
Chetan

Does your visa not say "no recourse to public funds" ?

No, you are not permitted to claim ANY benefits at all.
