FLRm. what letters to include ?

Post by SAMISPOUSAL » Thu Jun 30, 2016 9:10 am

We have to supply letters when applying for FLRm
Can some one please tell us
1 WHERE to find the guidelines about this ?
what is acceptable and what is not ?

I know it has to be spread out evenly over the 2 years and preferably in joint names.

thanks

Page 63-64 of the FLR(M) form lists many examples of the documents HO expects to see.

Examples of acceptable items of correspondence
• Letters or other documents from government departments or agencies, for example HM
Revenue and Customs, Department for Work and Pensions, DVLA, TV Licensing.
• Letters or other documents from your GP, a hospital or other local health service about
medical treatments, appointments, home visits or other medical matters
• Bank statements/letters
• Building society savings books/letters
• Council tax bills or statements
• Electricity and/or gas bills or statements
• Water rates bills or statements
• Mortgage statements/agreement
• Tenancy agreement(s)
• Telephone bills or statements

THESE ARE ALL SUBSTANTIALLY INVOLVED DOCUMENTS.cutting deep into our lives.and it seems PERHAPS just simply generic letters from these organisations will not be good enough ? For example A letter ( of course addressed to us) from a bank generically describing products (OR INTEREST RATES etc) is too generic as it does not contain any personal account details?

As you're going to have to submit bank statements with your application, why would personal details in other documents such as utility bills, Council tax etc. concern you?

Or what about Passports, finger prints, digital facial photos, all the information in the application form......

I did not imply that we should not submit sensitive data to immigration.
all i am saying is that non sensitive letters ( but still from a credible source) are not readily included.

All correspondence showing name + address will be accepted. These must be from at least 3 different categories and spread as evenly as possible over the 2.5 year qualifying period. If you don't have 6 in joint names you will have to submit 12 in single names.
