Simple Queries

Post by KTB123 » Sun Jul 10, 2016 8:43 pm

Hi there,

I'm posting on behalf of my boyfriend who is a South African living here on Ancestral. He is making his postal Set O ILR application this week but is extremely worried about having not filled in the form correctly and therefore being denied. Is there anywhere online we can find examples of the forms filled?

Also - if for any reason he was denied, would they still take the full fee or do they simply deny you and that's that.

Realistically I think he has no reason to fret as everything appears to be in order and he has together all of the supporting documents they've asked for, it's just that it's a lot of money for us so it's a source of anxiety that we could potentially loose 2 grand for simply a box not being ticked correctly, or something....

Thank you for helping put us straight!

Why doesn't he post his queries here on the forum. We will help as best we can. Has he read the Set(O) guidance notes?

If his application is refused, he will lose the full fee.

Any reason why he doesn't apply in person for a same day decision? Is he aware that postal applications can take many months.

Hiya -

Yes he's read the notes and filled in the form accordingly.

Sad news to hear we'll potentially loose the full fee.

The only reason he isn't applying for on-the-day decision is it's several hundred pounds more, which is money we simply don't have. Yes, the postal application can take anywhere upto 6 months, however he's been advised he is able to continue working during this period.

Thanks for your reply.

If he posts his (or you) questions or concerns with the form, we will help him.

Below is a very lengthy topic from a member who we assisted and he got his ILR. He asked a lot of good questions, so this might be helpful for you/him to read through.
