That is for new EU jobseekers coming to the country.

But remember that as an EU Jobseeker, even under retained worker, you can now only have UK benefits for 6 months maximum. This is because an EU Jobseeker Qualified Person using treaty rights, can now only be a jobseeker for 6 months in the UK. Then no right to reside in the UK as an EU jobseeker.

If you come to the end of that 6 months and you have a job to start, they may extend benefits for another week or two, but they will need to see that proof.

Thank you for your answers. If only I could I would leave UK and not be a burden but I can't I am in absurdly situation. I am a single parent due to domestic violence can't find work. Even if could my child is 18 months not entitled to free childcare yet and I would pay for nursery more then would earn, but that's not a main issue. My problem is I nearly used all my saving not able to pay rent and desperately want to go back. But my ex partner won't let me he doesn't want to take full care of our child just occasionally. If I would be leave without his consent he could accuse me of child abduction. So I am facing becoming a criminal or becaming homeless. I am scarred and desperate and really worry about my child. And UK wich laws stop me here refuse me the right to hb or help if homeless at least as to my current knowledge so trying to find information. And I did work full time for 3,5 years and then 2,5 years. Unfortunately have a gap longer then a year abroad. Didn't claim benefits before child and didn't claim hb before. Now when really need it not eligible. So it's not like I came to milk benefits. Doesn't feel fair. What can I do to protect my child and me?
