ILR granted by post and Intending to apply wife visa

Post by Imran1990 » Sun Jul 24, 2016 6:22 pm

Hello everyone,
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who took part in advising me during the process of ILR application.
My ILR has granted and waiting for the card.

Now, I am intending to apply a visa application for my wife.
I would be appreciated if someone can advise me the requirements of documents and an IELTS test. Would it be A1 or B1?

Many Thanks and wish all those very best who's applications are in process.

Is your wife in the UK?

If yes, what is her current visa status?

On what basis did you get ILR, 5 years residence or 10 years long residence?

Thanks CR001 for your kind response.

She is in Pakistan & never came in the UK.
I have applied on the basis of 10 years long residence.

Kind Regards

You need to apply for a Spouse Settlement visa for your wife.
https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk/overview

A1 level English is required from an approved test/test provider https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... entres.pdf

As the sponsor you must show minimum income of £18,600 p.a or have savings over £16,000 to make up any shortfall. With no income, you would need savings of £62.500 held in an accessible account for 6 months.

She needs to apply for a Spouse Settlement Visa on form VAF4A. See link below.

https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk/overview

YOU need to meet the financial requirement of £18,600pa.

SHE needs to meet A1 English.

She will have to pay the £600 immigration health surcharge in addition to the £1,195 visa application fee.

She will be on a 5 year route to ILR (2 x 2.5 year visas)

Apologies again!

I am slightly confused re A1 & B1.

I have read on https://www.ielts.org/what-is-ielts/iel ... kills-faqs
That IELTS Life skills B1 is required to Prove your English speaking and listening skills as part of your application to UK Visas and Immigration for indefinite leave to remain or citizenship.

She is NOT applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain.

She IS applying for a spouse settlement visa, which requires English A1.

Hi Imran
Congrats once again.
Could you please help me for following questions? Also i have given my immigration history if you have any advice for me. I am going to apply by myself and need help from you and Moderators.

I entered UK on 4th Sep 2006
FLR FP applied on 7th Jan 2016
FLR FP refused on 24 May 2016 (No in country appeal right )
Fresh FLR FP application made within 28 days on 20th June 2016
Eligible for ILR on 8th August 2016(Prior to 28 days)
My Question is:-
1. Did you get you application varied by solicitor or did you vary yourself?
2. What did you mention in your cover letter? Is there any way that you can help me with cover letter and you can delete your personal information.
3. Did you mention about your refusal on cover letter?
4. Did you mention that you are varying out of time application?
5. Do I still get qualified for long residency as I am overstayed from 24 May 16

Imran, It would be highly appreciated if you could help me.
Senior moderators Casa, CR001, if you could help me here as I have 2 more weeks to go to PEO

Hope to hear from you soon.

You have tagged your ILR query post onto a Spouse Visa application post. Please refrain from doing this and post your query in the ILR sub forum. By posting in this topic, it will create huge confusion when other member start responding and it is not fair on Imran for this to happen when his post is ONLY related to his spouse's visa application.

Hi CR001
I am not able to send message to Imran so this is the only option i had to reach Imran bez I believe that he was in similar situations. Also, I have posted my query in my own ILR topic few months back but unfortunately never had any suggestion there.

I have 2 weeks remaining to go to PEO so just trying my best for some advise.

Thanks
