Confusion as home office have updated their website

Post by rukhsarmanzoor » Wed Aug 03, 2016 10:28 am

Hi guys,

I (sponsor) submitted my husbands (Pakistani) online application on Monday. Payment and biometric appointment booking all went through fine. He'll submit his passport at the VAC next week.

In the email confirmations we received, we are told to send supporting documents to this address: UKVI International, PO Box 3468, Sheffield, UK, S3 8WA

They've recently however posted a new address online: Settlement applications, The Portergate – Level 1 (Home Office - UKVI), 257 Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, S11 8NX, United Kingdom on their website https://www.gov.uk/government/world-loc ... n-pakistan

I'm confused, do I go with the updated website (which I found by chance) or with the address they sent in the email (which they should have updated if this came into play on 18 July 2016) ?

It also says I need to send copy of my husband's passport (the applicant), I have a black/white copy so that I could use it to fill in the online form, I wasn't aware that I'd have to submit this with the supporting docs however. Should I send every page, will this need to be certified?

Thanks

Hi.

I included the previous address. Make sure you send it through recorded delivery and keep the proof of it. They will send you a confirmation email in couple of days time.

You do not need to send husband's passport as he will hand it over to VAC when he will go for biomatrics.

Thanks Sunoo. When you say you 'included' the previous address do you mean you used both? Or you used the previous address at the time. I'll be using special delivery and keep records of course.

It's annoying that the information they communicate doesn't correlate. They updated the website saying from the 18th July a new address should be used to send supportinging documents. The email confirmation we received on 1st August clearly had the old address and under the subheading 'Instructions for Pakistani Applicants' said to include a copy of his passport at the front of the bundle. :?

I am in the same confusion today I reconfirm from Gerry's staff about the address of sheffield they said use previous one.
As same address in the appointment confirmation email.

Today I read the third address on Gerry's website.

How can we confirm the exact address.
But I think we should follow instruction Gerry gives us.

Can anyone tell me ho

A third address?!

I called my solicitor earlier about the addresses, he recommended using the new address and special delivery. He said not to worry it'll get there. Let's hope so

U send it to the new address on their website. The emails are generic and seems haven't been updated yet. I have sent my docs on 22/07/16. They have changed the process as well now all docs get scanned and returned to you with in couple of days u sent them, even the application forms

We pay over £1k in fees to them and aren't even informed properly about changed processes. I saw the post on the other forum with the note one sponsor got back. It looks shady that there's no name, no official headed paper or stamp, no date or email confirmation to say they got the bundle and have scanned everything (really, can they really scan every single document?)

From what other sponsors who sent docs to the new address have said, I've gathered they've revised the process a little and haven't bothereed to communicate this. Pti said he got his docs back within days of sending them and had no confirmation email. After his enquiry they said it was a new process and his documents came back because they now scan them. Hopefully you'll have yours back soon.

Always worth remembering Gov UK website is not guidance and even guidance is not the law.

No biggie.
Its likely that all that's happened is a PO box number has now been set up to point to the physical address.

Thanks for your reply rukh sarmad zoom . I have checked on the royal mail website it was delivered the next day on the 19th July also have viewed the proof it has been signed for . It's just the fac that on the website it says a new address from the 18th but I was unaware of this and sent it to the address I mentioned in previous post which is the address in the email they sent me when I booked an appointment for biometric.

Good Morning Dawn1

I hope you are well.

I have also made an application for my spouce. The most recent update for uk visas an immigration is suppprting documents should be scanned and sent to the following address.

PO BOX 5852
Sheffield
S11 0FX

Mine was received on the 18th , haven't heard back from the settlement department yet (Christmas delays).

I wouldn't worry about sending to the other address, so long as the application you sent was received by the home office via special delivery, it will get put the right pile of applications or forwarded to the correct address you will hopefully hear back from them soon there might be slight delay, however a times they do scan your supporting docs and send back without an acknowledgment.

Hope this helps :-)
