FLR(M) application - a few questions re English Language

Post by AMRHCBV » Mon Aug 15, 2016 1:53 pm

Hi guys,

Hijacking the thread for a question of my own, if I may.

FLR(M) - Section 8, English Language Requirement.

I meet this requirement through the 'If you are relying on an English language test which was accepted with your previous partner or parent application' part, being a Cambridge English Advanced exam taken in 2012 (level B2) - we supplied the certificate with the LTR application 2.5 years ago (and have subsequently misplaced this cert.!).

In section 13, Documents, the English Language Requirement section does not specify any documents needed in our case above.

To be sure, I called the UKVI helpline to check, and was told that we should supply the original certificate (despite being accepted for a previous application). As we do not have the certificate (and Cambridge English tell us that they cannot provide a new one), she suggested that we;

a) submit a cover letter explaining, and hope it gets through, or
b) take the new SELT (safe option, but adds an extra £150 onto the fee)

I'm skeptical about this answer - the person I spoke with seemed unsure on the answers

Does anyone here have any experience of submitting the FLR(M) using an old English test?

Thanks,
Catalina.

To avoid confusion when members respond after you tagged onto another members topic, I have split your question to its own topic.

Please refrain from hijacking other members threads with your question, it is unfair to the original poster.
