Eligibility for ILR

Post by ageorge » Fri Aug 19, 2016 11:54 am

Hello Forum,
I arrived in the UK on 23rd September 2011 (visa was valid from 28 Aug 2011) as a dependant to my wife. Visa type was TIER2 Partner.

In February 2012 I secured a job and switched to TIER2 General. And current TIER2 General Visa expires on 08 Jan 2019.

My question is when I will be eligible for applying ILR?

Will 5 years qualifying residential period start while I was on TIER2 PARTNER visa or from the day I switched to my own TIER2 General Visa?

Many thanks for any support.

If you had to leave the country to switch to this category then your clock would have reset. If that's the case then 5 years from Tier 2 General start date.
