Spouse Visa Extention Confused?

Hi All,

Please can someone help me with these questions,

My sister in law arrived to the uk on a spouse visa. My brother is a british citizen. They have 1 son which was born recently.

My brother works as a contractor, and currently does not meet the requirement financial as hes been out of a job for the last few months

Her spouse visa is expiring in 5 months, does she

1) Have to take A2 test?
2) Pass the life in the uk test?
3) which route is better the 5 year route or the 2 year route??

Is she applying for an extension of her spouse visa? When did she originally apply for her spouse visa?

If yes :

1. A2 is required from October 2016

2. Not required for a spouse visa extension

3. There is only a 5 year route as she appears to have everything applied for her spouse visa after 9th July 2012.

If they don't meet the financial requirement she can't apply on FLR (M)

Correct me if I am wrong if they don't meet the financial route can they apply for the 10 year route

What is better to take the test, trinity college London or IELTS??
